Test 13: Left/Right Front Door Receiver Signal Control Line

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 29 other vehicles, including the 1999 Mercedes-Benz E430, 1999 Mercedes-Benz E320, 1999 Mercedes-Benz E300, 1999 Mercedes-Benz CLK430, and 1999 Mercedes-Benz CLK320. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect connector No. 3 from both front door control modules. Disconnect both front door receiver connectors. Measure resistance between left front door receiver connector terminal No. 3 and left front door control module connector No. 3, terminal No. 2. Measure resistance between right front door receiver connector terminal No. 5 and right front door control module connector No. 3, terminal No. 2.
  2. Resistance should be less than one ohm. If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, repair wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  3. Measure resistance between positive battery terminal and left or right front door control module connector No. 3, terminal No. 2. Resistance should be more than 20 k/ohms. If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, repair wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  4. Measure resistance between ground and left or right front door control module connector No. 3, terminal No. 2. Resistance should be more than 20 k/ohms. If resistance is as specified, receiver signal control line is okay at this time. If resistance is not as specified, repair wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
