Adjusting trunk lid - AR88.50-P-5200K

  Adjusting in longitudinal direction     
DANGER Risk of injury  to fingers being jammed or squeezed  when removing and installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/tailgate and sliding roof. When moving components ensure that no body parts or limbs are in the area of motion. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
1 Loosen screws (4) on hinge lever (3) on left and right    
2 Loosen screws (2) on striker eye (1)    
3 Adjust trunk lid so that rear edge of trunk lid is flush with rear fender and rear center section SPECIAL TOOL Feeler gauge Figure
    IMPORTANT See areas A and B, simultaneously maintain gap. Dimensions ↓  
    Gap dimensions on lids, doors and covers
NOTES If necessary, adjust installation position of trunk lid with eccentric bolt (6) for greater adjustment path (see Items 8-19).

4 Loosen screws (4) on hinge lever (3) on left and right TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw on trunk lid hinge on side wall *BA88.50-P-1001-01A 
  Height adjustment     
5 Adjust height of front edge of trunk lid on hinge levers so that outer edge of trunk lid is flush with fenders SPECIAL TOOL Feeler gauge Figure
    IMPORTANT See area C, simultaneously maintain gap.
Dimensions ↓
 
    Adjust gap dimensions on hoods, doors and covers
NOTES If necessary, adjust installation position of trunk lid with eccentric bolt (6) for greater adjustment path (see Items 8-19).

6 Press rear of trunk lid down until top edge of trunk lid is flush with rear fenders See area D
NOTES Loosen screws () on striker eye ()
 
N Adjust trunk lid lock and striker eye   AR88.50-P-5020F
  Adjusting with eccentric bolt     
8 Remove rear shelf   AR68.30-P-4580K
9 Loosen nut (6) on eccentric bolt (7)    
10 Adjust installation position of trunk lid with eccentric bolt (6) IMPORTANT as described in Items 1-7  
11 Tighten nut (7) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut on eccentric bolt *BA88.50-P-1003-01A 
12 Close trunk lid and check for proper functioning    
13 Install rear shelf   AR68.30-P-4580K
