Description & Operation
Keyless entry system is an infrared controlled system consisting of a transmitter, Pneumatic System Equipment (PSE) control module, Drive Authorization System (DAS), (which includes Electric Steering Column (ESC) adjustment control module, Engine Control Module (ECM) and electronic ignition lock control module), 2 receivers and related wiring. Vehicle can be locked and unlocked using remote control. Windows and sun roof can be also closed using remote control.
Keyless entry system is connected to ECM using Control Area Network (CAN) data lines. Electronic ignition lock control module, ESC control module and ECM are coded together. This identification code cannot be erased, thus swapping control modules for trouble shooting cannot be done unless a matched set of control modules are used.
To unlock vehicle, point transmitter at one of 2 receivers and press transmitter button. Turn signal lights blink once to indicate vehicle is unlocked. To lock vehicle, point transmitter at one of 2 receivers and press transmitter button. Turn signal lights blink 3 times to indicate vehicle is locked.
To lock vehicle and close windows and sun roof, press and hold transmitter button until vehicle locks and all windows and sun roof are completely closed.
