Subscriber sequence before installation:

Subscriber sequence after
installation (must be complied with):
- Radio (A2) or COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3)
- Sound amplifier (A2/13)
- CD changer (A2/6)
- D2B interface for permanently installed telephone (A59) (for code 316 only)
or
portable CTEL D2B interface (A59/1) (for code 317 only)
- Radio (A2) or COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3)
Optical waveguides are given new consecutive numbers after installation of a new ring subscriber (note information flow).
- Unplug connector housing of CD changer (A2/6).
- Release connector housing and withdraw white insert (ws) from connector housing for CD changer (A2/6).
- Insert new optical waveguide module M3 (new) together with white insert (ws) into the connector housing for the CD changer (A2/6), lock the housing and connect again.
- Release new connector housing for D2B interface (for CTEL A59/for portable CTEL A59/1) and fit red insert (rt) from new optical waveguide module M3 (new) to connector housing of D2B interface. Fit white (ws) insert from M4 (new) optical waveguide module into connector on D2B interface too and lock connector housing. Join connector housing to D2B interface.
- Unplug connector housing on radio (A2) or COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) and release. Fit M4 (new) optical waveguide module with red (rt) insert into connector housing, lock and connect housing again.
- Route optical waveguide along present leads while observing special routing guidelines and fasten with adhesive felt.
- Route optical waveguide (M3, new) along existing wiring harnesses from trunk to cable duct on rear panel and on to the left rear cable duct.
- Route optical waveguide (M3, new) in existing cable duct to selector lever and from there back to the cable duct in the right-hand rear seat. Route optical waveguide (M4) in existing cable duct again to selector lever and from there to the center console.
