The function of the valve units of the front and rear axle is identical. A control valve is assigned to each spring strut for extending and retracting the hydraulic cylinder. The control valves are closed when de-energized.

In the operating state, the valves are opened and allow oil to flow either to the spring strut or into the return flow, depending on the direction of flow.

Shut-off valves are connected in series to the control valves. They prevent the parked vehicle from lowering and switch the system to passive in the event of a fault.

A pressure reservoir which is used for rapidly increasing the pressure, is connected to each valve unit.
