Triggering of anti-theft alarm (ATA), function - GF80.50-P-2004S

An anti-theft alarm (ATA) can be triggered by

On vehicles with code 882 or 491 (USA ONLY ) in addition by

Function prerequisites 

ATA activated  and associated inputs ready to trigger an alarm.

Function sequence 

The inputs ready for alarm are checked by the control modules.

If two subsequent checks of the same input do not indicate the non-actuated state the corresponding control module transmits the CAN message to trigger an alarm. The left front SAM control module (N10/6) triggers an acoustic  as well as optical alarm  .

IMPORTANT

Moreover, on vehicles with code 491 (USA ONLY ) a panic alarm can be triggered with the panic alarm switch  on the remote control key.
