IMPORTANT In vehicles as of 1.9.03, the navigation processor (N41/1) is installed as a separate control unit on the left-hand side of the trunk.

Continuous position finding involves calculating the current position of the vehicle. Continuous position finding is active when the ignition is switched on, and it is carried out by the navigation processor. During the switch-on phase (software is loaded), only basic position finding is available.

After switching the ignition off, all important positioning parameters are stored for the duration of the run-on time (approx. 30 min).

Continuous position finding uses the following 3 methods which supplement each other and thereby ensure extremely precise and reliable position finding:

IMPORTANTManual input of the vehicle's location 

The location can be input manually at the operating and display unit. This can be useful in the following situations:
