Remove/install clock spring contact - AR46.10-P-0200Q

MODEL 203 from 1.7.02 to 23.4.04 

MODEL 209 up to 31.5.04

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install    
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  caused by swallowing battery acid. Risk of injury  caused by burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and safety glasses. Pour battery acid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A
DANGER Risk of injury.  Injuries may result when performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units. Store airbag units with deployment side facing up; do not expose to temperatures greater than 100 °C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply. AS91.00-Z-0001-01A

1 Remove steering wheel IMPORTANT Front wheels in straight-ahead position. AR46.10-P-0100P 
2 Loosen bolt (2) of steering column module (N80)    
3 Remove steering column module (N80) complete NOTES Secure clock spring contact (A45) against twisting using pin (5) in order to prevent damage.
IMPORTANT The pin (5) is included in the clock spring contact (A45) repair kit.
IMPORTANT Detach steering column module (N80) from steering column (arrow).
 
4 Remove clock spring contact (A45). IMPORTANT Only unscrew the bolts (4) until the clock spring contact (A45) can be removed.
IMPORTANT Carefully lever off clock spring contact (A45) all the way around the sides.
 
INSPECT Check     
5 Check the position of the steering angle sensor and the clock spring contact (A45) IMPORTANT The position of the steering angle sensor and the clock spring contact (A45) must not be changed.
IMPORTANT If the clock spring contact (A45) has been twisted, the center position must be adjusted:
 
    Set the center position of the clock spring contact (A45) AR46.10-P-0200-01Q 
6 Check clock spring contact (A45) for damage IMPORTANT Carry out visual inspection, replace clock spring contact (A45) if necessary.  
7 Install in the reverse order    
8 Perform function check
