10.3.05 Cooling system Engine 271 *BF20.00-P-1001-02P 
  Draining    
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.

1 Open cooling system cap (1) at coolant expansion reservoir (2) IMPORTANT Screw on cooling system cap (1) 1/2 one revolution in an anticlockwise direction, release pressure relief, then unscrew cooling system cap (1).  
2 Remove lower engine compartment paneling   AR61.20-P-1105P
  Drain coolant from radiator     
3 Slide collector siphon hose onto fitting at radiator (3).    
4 Open the radiator drain plug (4) and drain the coolant IMPORTANT Catch coolant with suitable vessel.  
5 Tighten radiator drain plug (4) and detach collector siphon hose from fitting at radiator (3).    
  Drain coolant at crankcase     
6 Loosen crankcase drain plug (5) and push collector siphon hose onto crankcase drain plug (5).    
7 Open the crankcase drain plug (5) and drain the coolant IMPORTANT Catch coolant with suitable vessel.  
8 Pull collector siphon hose off crankcase drain plug (5) and tighten crankcase drain plug (5). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 111 *BA20.00-P-1001-02B

9 Lower vehicle    
  Filling     
10 Pour in coolant and bleed cooling system IMPORTANT Reuse the clean coolant. AR20.00-P-1142-04A
