MODIFICATION NOTES

6.3.06 Cooling system Engines 272, 273 *BF20.00-P-1001-02U 
  Drain     
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by fingers being pinched or crushed  when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lids, tailgates or sliding roof. Keep body parts and limbs well clear of moving parts. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of lifting platform and position four support plates at lifting platform support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

1 Open engine hood Model 203 AR88.40-P-1000P
    Model 209 AR88.40-P-1000Q
2 Disconnect ground line from battery When draining coolant at right drain plug (6) on crankcase  
    Model 203 AR54.10-P-0003P
    Model 209 AR54.10-P-0003Q
3 Unscrew cap on coolant expansion reservoir IMPORTANT Slowly unscrew cap and reduce excess pressure.  
4 Remove the front section of the lower engine compartment paneling   AR61.20-P-1105P
  Drain coolant from radiator     
5 Slide siphon hose on to left fitting (3) at radiator    
6 Slacken siphon hose (4) at radiator and drain coolant. IMPORTANT Collect coolant in the coolant container Observe regulations for disposal of coolant.  
  Drain coolant at crankcase     
7 Remove rear section of lower engine compartment paneling   AR61.20-P-1105P
8 Loosen crankcase drain plug at left (5) and right (6) at crankcase until they can be turned by hand    
9 Slide drain hose onto crankcase drain plug at left (5) and right (6)    
10 Continue to manually loosen crankcase drain plug at left (5) and right (6) and drain off coolant IMPORTANT Collect coolant in the coolant container Observe regulations for disposal of coolant.  
  Filling     
11 Tighten drain plug (4) at radiator and detach siphon hose from fitting (3) IMPORTANT After coolant is drained at radiator  
12 Detach drain hose and tighten crankcase drain plug at left (5) and right (6) IMPORTANT After draining coolant at crankcase.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA20.00-P-1001-02E 
13 Pour in coolant and bleed cooling system   AR20.00-P-1142-04T

14 Inspect cooling system for leaks   AR20.00-P-1010QB 
15 Attach ground lead to battery IMPORTANT After draining coolant at right drain plug (6) on crankcase

16 Install front or rear section for lower engine compartment paneling   AR61.20-P-1105P
