Removal & Installation

NOTE: Numbers and letters in parenthesis refer to letters and numbers in illustrations.
  1. Remove parking brake shoes. See PARKING BRAKE SHOES  .
  2. Loosen adjusting bolt (89) at adjustment. See Fig 1 .
  3. Remove front brake cable (85) at intermediate lever (91).
  4. Remove brake control cable (86) at equalizer arm (92) and at adjustment.
  5. Remove self-locking bolt (98) on wheel carrier.
  6. Remove brake control cable (86).
  7. Installation is the reverse of removal. Replace self-locking bolt (98). Tighten nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Adjust parking brake cable. See PARKING BRAKE  under ADJUSTMENTS.
