Remove/install lamp unit - AR82.10-P-4730P

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install    
DANGER Risk of death  caused by high voltage levels present at xenon headlamps.
Risk of explosion/fire  due to highly flammable materials in the area of damaged xenon bulbs
Risk of injury  caused by UV light, hot components on xenon headlamps and glass splinters when xenon bulbs are bursting
Risk of poisoning  due to inhaling mercury vapors and when swallowing/coming in contact with toxic salts and mercury compounds
Do not come into contact with parts that are under high voltage. Persons with active electronic implants  (e.g. heart pacemakers) must never work on xenon headlamps. Switch off entire lighting system. Wear insulating safety shoes, safety glasses, and protective gloves. Remove highly inflammable materials from the hazard area. Ensure that the working area is sufficiently ventilated. AS82.10-Z-0001-01A
1 Open engine hood and move to vertical position   AR88.40-P-1000P
2 Remove front bumper   AR88.20-P-2000P
3 Remove screws (1, 3, 4)    
4 Unplug the electrical connectors from the left front lamp unit (E1) or the right front lamp unit (E2)    
5 Remove left front lamp unit (E1) or right front lamp unit (E2) IMPORTANT Pull them carefully out toward front  
    IMPORTANTInstallation:  Align lamp unit such that the distances between the fender and closed engine hood are equal.  
6 Detach vacuum line of positioning element IMPORTANT On vehicles with xenon headlamp unit, code 612b, and bi-xenon headlamp unit, code 614, the vacuum line is plugged in at the bottom of the lamp unit (blind line).  
7 Install in the reverse order    
8.1 Set electrical zero position of headlamp range adjustment With xenon headlamp unit, code 612b, bi-xenon headlamp unit, code 614

9 Check the setting of the headlamps and adjust if necessary    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Check and correct headlamp adjustment   AP82.10-P-8260P
10 Check headlamp cleaning system for proper function With headlamp cleaning system, code 600a
