Retrofit hands-free system wiring harness - AZ82.70-P-0005-02PAP

With radio 

  1. Expose connection for telephone handset (A34) in radio recess.
  2. Connect antenna for the telephone handset (A34) to the antenna line of the PSC adapter.

    IMPORTANT Use the antenna adapter enclosed if necessary (depends on the vehicle version).

  3. Connect VDA connection line (5) to the interface box for the hands-free system (3).

  4. Route the connection line (5) from the interface box for the hands-free system (3) as shown in the Figure to the exposed CTEL separation point for the portable CTEL (X39/37) into the radio recess and connect.

    IMPORTANT Fasten wiring harness with adhesive felt.

  5. Disconnect standard production coupling of chamber A and B to the radio and connect to the voltage supply wiring harness (20). Connect intermediate coupling from the wiring harness (20) to the radio.

    IMPORTANT The VDA connection line (5) is connected to the voltage supply wiring harness (20).

  6. Prepare CAN wiring harness (4) as shown in the Figure.

  7. Connect CAN wiring harness (4) to ICANI box (2) and connect the ICANI connection coupling (7) to the free coupling of the interface box for the hands-free system (3).
  8. Route CAN wiring harness (4) to the radio and fasten with adhesive felt.

  9. Disconnect the standard production coupling of chamber C to the radio (A2) and connect to plug (11) of the CAN wiring harness (4). Connect intermediate coupling for the radio (A2) from the CAN wiring harness (4) to the radio.

  10. Connect microphone wiring harness (22) to the connection coupling (MIC) in the radio recess and route under the glove box to the right A-pillar and from there upwards to the roof liner and fasten with adhesive felt.

    IMPORTANT On vehicles with head airbag when routing at the upper A-pillar, ensure that routing takes place in front of the tensioning strap of the head airbag (towards the windshield).

  11. Stick microphone (6) as shown in the figure to the mirror base with double-sided adhesive tape (contained in the parts kit) and connect.

    IMPORTANT Align microphone so that pickup opening points towards driver.

  12. Connect hands-free speaker (21) to the connection plug and route to the cover for the front passenger knee bolster. Install speaker at the predetermined point.

    IMPORTANT Use commercially available screws for the installation.
