Expand fiber optical cable ring for component to be retrofitted - AN82.64-P-0001-05P

  1. Press the engagement lug (arrow) of the ordered MOST wiring harness outward slightly and pull the black, 2-pin MOST coupling (14) out of the MOST connector housing (11).

  2. Unclip blue retaining clip (15) out of the black, 2-pin MOST connector (14).

IMPORTANT It must be ensured that the fiber optical cable module (8) in chamber 1 (input) is installed (see arrow). If this is not the case, install fiber optical cable module (8) from chamber 2 in chamber 1.

  3. Press the engagement lug (arrow) of the second ordered MOST wiring harness outward slightly and pull the black, 2-pin MOST coupling (13) out of the MOST connector housing (12).

IMPORTANT The MOST connector housing (12) is no longer required.

    G04736043
  4. Unclip blue retaining clip (16) out of the black, 2-pin MOST connector (13).

IMPORTANT It must be ensured that the fiber optical cable module (9) is installed in contact cavity 1 (input) (see arrow). If this is not the case, remove fiber optical cable module (9) from contact cavity 2 and install in contact cavity 1.

  5. Install fiber optical cable module (9) in contact cavity 2 (output) of the black, 2-pin MOST coupling (14).

IMPORTANT Fiber optical cable module (9) must latch audibly.

  6. Install blue retaining clip (15) into the black, 2-pin MOST connector (14).
  7. Clip black, 2-pin MOST connector (14) into MOST connector housing (11).

IMPORTANT The MOST connector housing (11) will later be connected to the CD player with changer (in glove compartment).

  8. Release the engagement lug and remove the fiber optical cable module (9) from the black, 2-pin MOST coupling (13).
  9. Wrap felt tape (20, 21) on the fiber optical cable modules (8, 9) at the locations shown in the illustration (note measurements).

IMPORTANT The black 2-pin MOST coupling (13) is no longer needed.

IMPORTANT Wrap felt tape (21) on both of the fiber optical cable modules (8, 9) as shown.

  10. Unclip cover (12) from adapter coupling (10) ordered in direction of arrows.
  11. Install fiber optical cable module (8) in adapter coupling (10).

IMPORTANT Fiber optical cable module (8) must latch audibly.

  12. Route the fiber optical cable modules (8, 9) with the back connector housing (11) through the cutout in the glove compartment.

NOTESRisk of breakage!  Do not kink optical waveguide, route over sharp edges or bend in radii smaller than 25 mm. Tensile forces on inserts must not exceed 65 N. Do not squeeze fiber optical cable and do not compress with clamps or tie straps.

  13. Remove the black, 2-pin MOST coupling (18) from the black, 16-pin radio coupling (A2).

NOTESRisk of breakage!  Do not kink optical waveguide, route over sharp edges or bend in radii smaller than 25 mm. Tensile forces on inserts must not exceed 65 N. Do not squeeze fiber optical cable and do not compress with clamps or tie straps.

  14. Unclip blue retaining clip (17) from the black, 2-pin MOST connector (18).
  15. Release the engagement lug and remove the fiber optical cable module (7) from the MOST coupling (18) and install it in the adapter coupling (10).

IMPORTANT Fiber optical cable module (7) must latch audibly.

  16. Clip cover (12) on adapter coupling (10) and wind felt tape around.
