The GPS antenna (A2/23) serves for receiving as well as amplifying the GPS satellite signals. However, no signals are transmitted. The satellite signals received by the GPS antenna (A2/23) are amplified by the integrated antenna amplifier.

The output signal is forwarded over the coaxial antenna cable to the corresponding GPS receiver in the vehicle (e.g. for vehicles with code (525) MB Audio 50 APS radio to the radio and navigation unit (A2/56))
