Active service system (ASSYST), Mercedes - Benz driver information service - GF00.20-P-0003-02A

This document provides an overview of the driver information that CAN Be called up using the Active Service System (ASSYST) via the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1). Unless otherwise specified, the display is in white font.

The following information can be displayed:

For most remaining time or remaining distance displays, the service scope (A or B; 1 or 2 or service symbols) are displayed.

The display language can be selected using the "Settings" function of the instrument cluster (A1).

Remaining distance (Service A)

This display is shown when the service display is manually loaded, or the warning threshold has been reached.

IMPORTANT This display does not appear if time-based servicing scheme is active. This can be the case for vehicles with low annual mileage.

Remaining distance (Service B)

This display is shown when the service indicator is manually loaded, or the warning threshold has been reached.

IMPORTANT This display does not appear if time-based servicing scheme is active. This can be the case for vehicles with low annual mileage.

Remaining time (The example shows the representation for Service A)

This display is shown for vehicles with low annual mileage when the service display is manually loaded, or when the warning threshold has been reached.

IMPORTANT In most cases, the remaining distance is displayed.

Service interval expired (i.e. remaining distance or remaining time)

This display is shown as soon as the service interval has expired. The remaining distance or remaining time is now 0 km or 0 days, respectively. These values are not displayed.

IMPORTANT If the service interval is exceeded by more than 100 km or 1 day, this display is replaced by the following displays.

Service interval (distance) exceeded (remaining distance exceeded)

This display appears as soon as the service interval (remaining distance) is exceeded by more than 100 km.

IMPORTANT This display does not appear if time-based servicing scheme (remaining time) is active. This can be the case for vehicles with low annual mileage.

Service interval (time) has been exceeded (remaining time exceeded)

This display is shown as soon as the service interval (remaining time) has been exceeded by more than one day.

IMPORTANT This display only appears if time-based servicing scheme (remaining time) is active. This can be the case for vehicles with low annual mileage.

Engine oil warning message 

Too little oil can cause engine damage

Engine oil warning message

IMPORTANT There are two different types of driver information engine oil messages: warning messages (e.g. underfilled) and oil level reading messages initiated by the driver.

Minimum engine oil level reached

This message is displayed when the oil level has reached the minimum mark.

Too much engine oil in the engine

This message is displayed if there is too much oil in the engine.

Engine oil level or condition of oil has dropped to a critical level

This message appears if the oil level has dropped to a critical level, or if the oil condition has deteriorated, for instance due to water in the oil.

Oil measuring system defective

This message is shown when there is a fault in the oil measuring system (e.g. oil sensor is defective (oil level, temperature and quality) (B40).

This instruction is displayed when the oil level is called up but the ignition is not yet switched on.

This note is displayed when calling up the oil level while the engine is running, since the oil level cannot be measured in this operating condition.

This instruction is always displayed when the oil level is called up.

The oil level can only be measured correctly when the vehicle is parked on level ground. This display reminds the driver as such.

This display is shown when the oil level is called up when the waiting time after turning on the engine has not been upheld. Waiting time can take up to 30 min. when the engine is cold.

This message is displayed when calling up the oil level after the measurement has been performed and oil must be added. The following quantities may be displayed:

IMPORTANT The displayed missing oil quantity is no longer changed during the display. A change in the oil level cannot therefore be directly observed in the display.

Oil quantity OK

This display appears when the oil level is checked and the measurement shows the oil level to be OK.

IMPORTANT If "Measurement not currently possible!" is displayed, the waiting time was not observed.

Waiting time 

Measuring the oil level is only possible following the expiration of a waiting time following "engine OFF".

If the driver tries to check the oil level during "Engine ON", the message "ENGINE OIL LEVEL NOT AVAILABLE WHILE ENGINE IS RUNNING" appears.
