Number Designation
WH58.30-Z-1001-09A Multimeter
  1. Ascertain potential quiescent current consumer on the relevant fuse. See assignment and cable connections of fuse blocks, insert sheet or "Wiring Diagrams" for models 203, 209, 463.

IMPORTANT For location of components refer to "Wiring Diagrams" for models 203, 209, 463.

  2. Disconnect connector on potential quiescent current consumer.

The second multimeter is connected to the SPECIAL TOOL electrical connection set via the SPECIAL TOOL quiescent current test adapter instead of the corresponding fuse.

IMPORTANT If any connectors were disconnected from control modules, the current consumption may increase for up to four minutes (or up to 30 minutes in the case of the overhead control panel control module (N70)).

  3. Read off quiescent current on second multimeter:
    • Quiescent current ≤ 20 mA:

Quiescent current error is rectified after disconnecting the connector of the relevant component. The component is probably defective. To check, re-test the total quiescent current again.

    • Quiescent current > 20 mA:

Quiescent current error remains after disconnecting the connector. The component is OK. Reconnect the connector to the tested component.

  4. Perform test with all components at the appropriate fuses as described above.
