MODIFICATION NOTES

16.5.06 "Disconnect/connect ground line on battery" removed    
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install    
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by fingers being pinched or crushed  when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lids, tailgates or sliding roof. Keep body parts and limbs well clear of moving parts. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
1 Remove left and right intake air duct (1)    
2 Remove front engine cover Model 209.377/ 477
NOTES Do not tilt front engine cover, but lift upwards vertically otherwise the retaining lugs can break off.
 
3 Disconnect connector (3) of the electric suction fan engine and AC with integrated control (M4/7)    
4 Remove fanfare horns (H2) Model 203 AR54.35-P-1555P
    Model 209 AR54.35-P-1555Q
5 Unscrew bolts for steering oil cooler on front end crossmember (7) Except model 209.377 /477  
6 Remove hydraulic line for power steering (5) from front end crossmember (7)    
7 Remove bolt for windshield washer reservoir filler pipe Model 209.377/ 477  
8 Remove front end crossmember (7) from crossmember at the front by removing bolts (8)    
9 Unscrew bolts (10) at front end crossmember (7) on right and left.    
10 Detach hood cable (11)    
11 Remove retaining clips (12) for air ducting    
12 Push coolant line (13) out of fixture Except model 209.377 /477  
13 Remove cable ties at front end crossmember (7)    
14 Separate plug connection of hood lock on right (15)    
15 Remove front end crossmember (7) together with hood cables IMPORTANT If the rubber mounts (19) are firmly attached in the radiator, do not pull front end crossmember (7) upwards with force, but unscrew retaining pin (9) on right and left.
Press together retaining bracket (14) of radiator on right and left, then unhook front end crossmember (7) and remove.
 
16 Drain coolant Model 209.377/477 AR20.00-P-1142TMG
17 Disconnect coolant hose from thermostat housing to engine radiator, at engine radiator and place to one side Model 209.377/ 477  
18 Press clamp (16) on right and left IMPORTANT At the same time take out electric suction fan engine and AC with integrated control (M4/7) toward top.  
19 Take out electric suction fan engine and AC with integrated control (M4/7) toward top IMPORTANTInstallation:  Ensure that plates (17) of electric suction fan engine and AC with integrated control (M4/7) are seated in supports (18) of radiator on right and left.  
20 Install in the reverse order    
21 Carry out operational check of hood lock    
22 Inspect gaps of hood IMPORTANT Adjust gap dimension if required.

REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the Engine as it is running Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

24 Perform engine test run and check function of engine and AC electric suction fan with integrated control (M4/7)
