Gear indicator (A1p12), function 

The gear indicator (A1p12) is integrated in the multifunction display (A1p13). The shift range or selector lever position ("D", "R", "N", "P") currently selected and the transmission mode, comfort "C" or sport "S", currently selected are displayed.

The gear indicator (A1p12) is hidden if faulty signals are received via the class C (engine compartment) controller area network bus (CAN-C).
