	Open

	Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched  when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/ rear-end door or sliding roof.	When moving components, ensure that no body parts or limbs are within the operating range of moving parts.	AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
1	Pull release lever (1) in driver footwell to release engine hood
2.1	Pull handle (2) out of radiator paneling to stop and position engine hood to normal position (3a)	Do not lift on handle (2) as this may cause damage Model 203 except model 203.076 /276
2.2	Press handle (4) on engine hood and move engine hood to normal position (3a)	Model 203.076/ 276
	Move to upright position
3	Press red pushbutton and move engine hood to upright position (3b) until red pushbutton on gas pressure strut engages	The red pushbutton must engage completely.
	Close
4	Slightly lift engine hood, press red pushbutton and lower engine hood to normal position (3a) until pushbutton engages.	Press red pushbutton. If this is not observed, the engine hood can be moved nearly to the normal position posing a hazard of damaging the gasfilled spring strut.
5	Close engine hood	After closing the engine hood, check whether it locks properly; for this purpose, pull engine hood upward with a jerk.
