Trip computer (TRIP), networking of components - GF54.50-P-0001-02P
Function overview
The trip computer (TRIP) is integrated in the instrument cluster (A1).
The instrument cluster (A1) is connected to the following data bus systems:
- Controller Area Network bus class B (interior) (CAN-B)
- Controller Area Network bus class C (engine compartment) (CAN-C)
Data is exchanged with almost all control units over the two data bus systems.
The instrument cluster (A1) does not serve as an interface between CAN-B and CAN-C. This is the function of the EIS [EZS] control unit (N73).
Basically it concerns the following information:
- The kilometers driven
- The fuel consumption signal
- The time information
- The current quantity of fuel available
Received messages for the multifunction display (A1p13)
All signals for the messages on the multifunction display (A1p13) are received via CAN-B or CAN-C.
Information about the signal paths and other details about the different messages can be found in the function descriptions for the relevant systems.
