The illumination of the instrument cluster (A1) switches on automatically once the instrument cluster (A1) is activated.

Networking

The brightness of the instrument cluster (A1) is adjusted depending on the rain/light sensor (B38/2). The rain/light sensor (B38/2) is read in by the overhead control panel control unit (N70). From the light values read in the overhead control panel control unit (N70), detects whether it is day or night and places this information on the Controller Area Network bus class B (interior) (CAN B). The instrument cluster (A1) reads this information from CAN-B and switches the illumination of the instrument cluster (A1) into day or night mode.

Brightness adjustment for night mode

The brightness of the instrument cluster (A1) can be regulated via the variable resistor for instrument illumination (A1r1).

Brightness adjustment for day mode

The brightness of the instrument cluster (A1) is regulated via the phototransistor (P), only a minimum adjustment is possible via the variable resistor for instrument illumination (A1r1).

IMPORTANT With changes in ambient brightness the brightness of the illumination only changes after 3 seconds.
