Actuating fuel pump
- Ignition ON: Actuating the fuel pump for about 5 s as a full running protection (audible).
- During engine start by means of the first signals supplied by the crankshaft position sensor
- When engine running by means of TN engine speed signal
The fuel is actuated through the fuel pump relay. In model 170 integrated in relay module, in model 203 integrated in rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module.
The relay is actuated by a GND signal supplied by the ME-SFI control module. When the contact is closed, the fuel pump (M3) is connected through circuit 87 to circuit 30 (B+). Circuit 30 is protected by a 30 A fuse. The fuse is installed at the fuel pump relay or at the relay module.
If the fuel pump does not run, first of all test the voltage supply of the ME-SFI control module, and the fuse of the fuel pump.
Inspect cable connections of fuel pump for corrosion.
