  Stop lamp switch, task The stop lamp switch (S9/1) passes a signal to the stop lamps indicating that the driver has pressed the brake pedal and also passes a signal to inform different electronic systems (e.g. BAS, ETS, ASR, ESP, CC, IFI, DFI, CDI, ME-SFI) of the brake actuation.  
  Stop lamp switch, function The stop lamp switch (S9/1) functions in two ways:
It functions as a NO contact (2) for the stop lamp and as a NC contact (1) for control modules.
