The stop lamp switch is located on top of the brake pedal.
Design
Function
- The N.O. contact (1) forwards the signal for brake pedal actuation to the stop lamp (stop lamp switch-on)
- The break contact (2) forwards the signal for brake actuation to the ESP and BAS control unit (ESP, PML and BAS) (N47-5), which then forwards the signal over the CAN data bus --> This signal is used, e.g. by the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) to deactivate the cruise control function
