Design

Function

The N.O. contact (1) transmits the signal for brake pedal actuation to the brake lights (brake lights on).
The N.C. contact (2) transmits the signal for brake pedal actuation directly to the ME-SFI control unit (N3/10) up to approx. 2004, and as of approx. 2004 to the ESP control unit or ESP, PML and BAS control unit (N47-5), which then forwards the signal onto the CAN data bus.
--> The brake signal is used (up to 05/2005), for example, by the ME-SFI control unit (N3/10) to deactivate the cruise control function.
