Opening engine hood, moving to upright position, closing - AR88.40-P-1000G

DANGER Contact with components under high voltage can pose lethal hazard  Do not touch parts under high voltage. People with electronic implants (e.g. heart pacemakers) should not perform work on ignition system. AS15.10-Z-0001-01A
  Opening     
1 Pull lever on left below instrument panel (1) to release engine hood (2) Engine hood should spring open, if necessary lift engine hood slightly  
2 Press levers for safety hooks (arrow) against stop on engine hood (2) and open engine hood until the locking knob (4) catches NOTES Windshield wiper arm must not be folded forward
IMPORTANT The locking knob symbol "PRESS" should be completely visible in the opening in the gas pressure strut cover tube
 
  Moving to upright position     
3 Press locking knob symbol "PRESS" in opening in gas pressure strut cover tube and move engine hood (2) to upright position until locking knob (5) catches IMPORTANT The locking knob symbol "PRESS" must be completely visible in the opening in the gas pressure strut cover tube  
  Closing     
4 Press locking knob symbol "PRESS" in the opening in the gas pressure strut cover tube and pull engine hood (2) down against the pressure of the gas pressure strut (3) IMPORTANT The locking knob symbol "PRESS" must be completely visible in the opening in the gas pressure strut cover tube  
5 Close engine hood (2) NOTES Position hands on front edge of engine hood only  
6 Check locking function of engine hood lock
