REMOVING Removing     
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray.
Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant.
Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

1 Drain coolant at radiator and crankcase  
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR20.00-P-1142HA 
2 Remove lower engine compartment paneling    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR61.20-P-1105M
INSTALLING Installing     
IMPORTANT Notes on coolant preheater   AH20.00-P-1001-01A 
3 Screw coolant preheater (20) into housing (10) TORQUE SPECIFICATION
IMPORTANT Clamp housing in vise and adjust distance with sleeves or nuts.
Use new O-ring.

4 Connect housing (10) to coolant pump with hose (11)    
5 Screw housing (10) onto timing case cover with self-tapping screws (13) IMPORTANT Take special care when screwing in the self-tapping screws.  
6 Fasten hose (11) with clamps (12)    
7 Install and tighten new lower water hose (14) between housing (10) and radiator    
8 Fasten electric cable of coolant preheater (20) to oil pan using rubberized clamps (15), TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA01.45-P-1001-01B 
9 Continue routing along left longitudinal member to crossmember above left headlamp Fasten cable to existing wiring with tie strap (2).  
10 Fasten retaining spring (a) with cap (b) and self-tapping screws (c) to crossmember (9)    
11 Hang cable plug (8) in retaining spring and attach cap (b)    
12 Inspect cooling system for leaks
