REMOVINGINSTALLING Removal/installation     
DANGER Risk of injury  . Injuries may result when performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units. Store airbag unit with deployment face up, do not subject to temperatures above 100 °C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply. AS91.00-Z-0001-01A

1.1 Switch ignition off, withdraw ignition key IMPORTANT Vehicles without Keyless Go code 889.  
1.2 Switch off engine, remove transmitter key from the vehicle IMPORTANT For Keyless Go code 889. Keep the transmitter key out of transmitter range.  
2 Remove head restraint (1)    
3 Adjust front seat (2) to front IMPORTANT Move front and rear of seat cushion all the way up. Set seat backrest upright.  
4 Remove cover (3) from rear side paneling    
5 Unscrew bolt (5) from belt end fitting (4) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw on belt end fitting
IMPORTANTInstallation:  When screwing on ensure that the belt end fitting (4) remains mobile.

6 Unscrew screws (9) from rear of seat rails TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt to seat rail.
IMPORTANT Remove cover (11) from seat rail.

7 Turn retaining clamp (7) at Bowden cable in the direction of the transmission tunnel and detach    
8 Detach grommet (6) with Bowden cable from bracket    
9 Position front seat (2) to rear    
10 Unscrew screws (9) from front of seat rails TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt to seat rail.
IMPORTANT Remove cover (11) from seat rail.

11 Pry off pneumatic line plug (8) with WAF 7 open end wrench IMPORTANT Slightly tilt seat in vehicle backward.  
12 Detach connector (see arrow) from left front seat adjustment control unit with memory (N32/1) and right (N32/2) IMPORTANT Slightly tilt seat in vehicle backward.  
13 Disconnect driver seat separation point buckle emergency tensioning retractor connector (2-pin) (X28/34), 2-pin front passenger (X28/35) IMPORTANT Slightly tilt seat in vehicle backward.  
14 Remove end covering of seat rail (10) from seat rails    
15 Lift front seat (2) and remove    
16 Install in the reverse order    
17 Check function of seat adjuster
