Outdoor temperature sensor, function - GF83.57-P-2103-01I

Function

The resistance of the outdoor temperature sensor is dependent on the ambient temperature and heat and operates within a range of -40°C to +85°C. The current resistance value is transferred to the automatic A/C pushbutton control module via the left signal-acquisition and actuation module and the CAN bus. The automatic A/C pushbutton control module then changes the temperature settings lightly.

The interrelationship between the outdoor temperature and vehicle speed prevents an erroneously high temperature resulting from heat radiation from the engine from being transferred to the pushbutton control module when the vehicle is standing still or moving slowly. The temperature measured last is used when the ignition is switched off and on and at speeds below 20 km/h. When the ignition is switched off the outdoor temperature value last used for regulation is stored.
