The Infocall is manually triggered by the driver. Selecting the appropriate menu (Info service) on the CTEL handset automatically causes the CTEL and TELE AID, D2B transmitter/receiver unit (A35/17)  to automatically call the Mercedes Customers Assistance Center (CAC) via the GSM CTEL network. This free voice-only connection can be used to obtain any information that is available about the vehicle.

For example, it can be used to ask questions about:

• Operating the vehicle.
• Mercedes-BenzCard services
• Information about DaimlerChrysler
• Technical and service inquiries
• Leasing and financing services
• Accessory information brochures
