REMOVING Removal     
1 Disconnect ground cable of battery

2.1 Remove radio

2.2 Removing and installing operating/display unit with control module with COMAND (Code 352a) operating and display system

3 Remove rear passenger compartment floor covering    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR68.20-P-4800N
4.1 Open right cable duct    
4.2 Open left cable duct with Sound system (code 810)  
5 Remove rear backrest

6 Remove side wall paneling only right side  
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR68.30-P-1450N
7 Remove paneling in trunk    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR68.30-P-4600M
8 Remove SAM control module with fuse and relay box, front left IMPORTANT No removal, only remove far enough, so that an additional cable can be pulled through from driver's footwell and connected to fuse and relay box.

INSTALLING Installing     
9 Install optical waveguide module

10.1 Retrofit optical waveguide cable harness except code 810, code 819 AN82.70-P-0002-01MA 
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Cover optical waveguide NOTESDo not kink or stretch D2B optical waveguide  AR82.95-P-0005-01A
    IMPORTANT Fit optical waveguide connector and unit connection with caps  
10.2 Retrofit optical waveguide cable harness with code 810, code 819 AN82.70-P-0002-01MB 
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Cover optical waveguide NOTESDo not kink or stretch D2B optical waveguide  AR82.95-P-0005-01A
    IMPORTANT Fit optical waveguide connector and unit connection with caps  
11 Retrofit telephone cable harness IMPORTANT Feed cable harness AN82.70-P-0002-03MB 
12 Retrofit interface   AZ82.70-P-0001-07IB
13 Retrofit transmitter/receiver   AZ82.70-P-0001-06IA
14 Retrofit antenna   AN82.62-P-0001-02IA 
15 Retrofit handset   AZ82.70-P-0001-09IA
16 Retrofit hands-free microphone   AN82.70-P-8969-04MA 
17 Installation is carried out in reverse order IMPORTANT Stage 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8  
18 Carry out start-up and function test IMPORTANT Carry out version coding (telephone) with STAR diagnosis  
19 When modifying package code or designation of concerned special equipment, enter on vehicle card
