  1. Route wiring harness in vehicle as shown in figure.

  2. Route DVD player wiring harness (10) to COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3).
  3. Wind felt strip around filter box and fasten in place (see arrow).
  4. Route black (sw) lead from DVD player wiring harness (10) to ashtray housing.

  5. Detach connection coupling (A) of COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) and undo wiring harness by 50 mm.
  6. Connect brown line (br) from chamber 8 (circuit 31) of connection coupling (A) with brown line (br) from DVD player (A40/4) using soldering iron.
  7. Connect red/yellow line (rt/ge) from chamber 4 (circuit 30) of connection coupling (A) with red line (rt) from DVD player (A40/4) using soldering iron.

  8. Untie wiring harness 50 mm back at connector for ashtray housing.
  9. Connect black/gray line (sw/gr) of ashtray housing connector with black line (sw) of DVD player (A40/4) using soldering iron.

  10. Route TV signal extension line (12a) to footwell along A-pillar.
  11. Route infrared sensor line (11) along A-pillar and fasten in place using felt strip.

  12. Wind felt strip around infrared sensor line (11) and route under the roofliner to the overhead control panel.
  13. Insert infrared sensor (see arrow) as shown in figure template into gap on switch of left reading lamp and push all the way down.

  14. Fasten infrared sensor line (11) using felt strip to rear side of overhead control panel control module (N70).
  15. Remove cutout for reading lamp switch in covering on right-hand side (see arrow) for IR sensor approx.

  16. Route the extension line for the AV signals (12a), starting at the DVD player (A40/4), up to the installation location of the TV tuner (A2/42).

    IMPORTANT The extension line for the AV signals (12a) must be routed between the floor lining and the side sill to the cable duct in the trunk and then along the rear shelf and fastened in place using felt strips.

  17. Route the connection line for the AV signals (12) through the crinkled foamed material to the extension line for the AV signals (12a).
  18. Connect the AF interference suppression filter (12c) between the red and black AV signal lines (12, 12a) and fasten each of the couplings in place using felt strip.

  19. Connect the two yellow couplings of the AV signal lines (12, 12a) straight to each other and also fasten in place using felt strip.
  20. Insert the 18-pin black coupling into the plug position (AV1) of the TV tuner (A2/42).

    IMPORTANT The plug position is coded.

  22. Tie the AF interference suppression filter (12c) together with the AV signal lines (12, 12a) and fasten to existing wiring harnesses.
