Notes on DTC memory for electronic transmission control (ETC) - AD27.19-P-2000-05A
Additional notes:
- If the electronic system of the ETC or ME-SFI has fault codes filed in it, then more extensive tests can be performed using the HHT or Star Diagnosis Tool (e.g. comparison of target/actual values, controls).
- If no fault codes have been filed, then one should proceed according to a troubleshooting plan.
- 4 (for
vehicles only)
If the "check engine" malfunction indicator lamp illuminates in the instrument cluster, then an immediate reference to the respective fault code of the engine injection system is made by the HHT or Star Diagnosis tool.
- 5 Transmission adaptation (ETC adaptation) see function check
The HHT or Star Diagnosis tool only indicates the damaged electrical components in the display or refers to the respective test step.
Temporary fault code:
Fault has occurred in the past. This fault is stored until it is deleted. In order to localize the cause of a temporary or mirrored fault, or to determine a basis fault code, one should proceed as follows:
Subtract the permanently defined figure "96" from the displayed fault codes (098 to 161). The result will give you the sought after fault code.
