ME-SFI fault code description for fuel injectors - AD07.61-P-4000-10A
| 1 | Fault code | P0201 Cylinder 1 (Y62y1) P0202 Cylinder 2 (Y62y2) P0203 Cylinder 3 (Y62y3) P0204 Cylinder 4 (Y62y4) P0205 Cylinder 5 (Y62y5) P0206 Cylinder 6 (Y62y6) |
|
| 2 | Error storage | after expiry of test duration and fault | |
| Activation of engine diagnostics malfunction indicator lamp (EURO3/4) or CHECK ENGINE (MIL) |
after two successive driving cycles with faults | ||
| 3 | Frequency of test | Continuously | |
| 4 | Checked signal or status | Current/voltage check at each fuel injector | |
| 5 | Fault setting conditions | Voltage < 2.5 V | |
| Limit values | Current > 4.2 A | ||
| Short circuit to ground | No voltage at fuel injector | ||
| Short circuit to + 12 V | approx. 4 - 8 V at unloaded output of ME-SFI control module | ||
| Open circuit | approx. 1 s | ||
| Test duration | |||
| 6 | Test prerequisites | Battery voltage between 8 -17.1 V | |
| 7 | The actuation of each fuel injector is inspected for signs of open and short circuits (to ground or battery voltage). When the output stage is in locked status a short circuit to ground and an open circuit can be detected, whereas for a conducting output stage a short circuit is recognized to the battery voltage. If a malfunction occurs the output stage is immediately deactivated. |
||
| 8 | If there is a short circuit to ground the corresponding fuel injector is always open. | ||
