Open engine hood, move to upright position, close - AR88.40-P-1000GI

DANGER Hazard  from touching parts which conduct high voltages Do no touch parts conducting high voltages. Persons with electronic implants (e.g. heart pacemakers) must not work on the ignition system. AS15.10-Z-0001-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  to fingers being jammed or squeezed  when removing and installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/tailgate or sliding roof. When moving components, ensure that no body parts or limbs are within the operating range of moving parts. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
  Setting up     
1 Pull lever (1) in left side of footwell to unlock the engine hood (2) IMPORTANT Engine hood jumps open; lift engine hood slightly if necessary.  
2 Pull handle (3) out of radiator grille as far as the stop and open engine hood NOTES Do not lift by the handle. The windshield wiper arms must not be folded forward.  
3 Remove gas-operated struts (4) from top of engine hood (2), move engine hood (2) to vertical position and install gas-operated struts on engine hood in the lower position (arrow)   AR88.40-P-3010GH 
  Opening     
4 Remove gas-operated struts (4) from top of engine hood (2), move engine hood (2) down slightly and install gas-operated struts on engine hood in the upper position   AR88.40-P-3010GH 
5 Pull down engine hood (2) against the force of the gas-operated struts (4)    
6 Close engine hood (2) NOTES Place your hands only on the front edges of the hood.  
7 Pull engine hood firmly upwards to check the latching function of the engine hood lock
