Preparatory measures for the quiescent current check - AR54.10-P-1000-01GH

Models 163, 170 with MB Audio 10 RDS radio with CD drawer, model 168 with MB Audio 10 CD radio with VK/RDS 

1. Switch on ignition.
2. Switch on Audio 10 radio CD.

Only during the first quiescent current test 

1. 3.1 Position volume on the left rotary switch on minimum.

   The sleep mode of the Audio 10 CD is simulated by adjusting the volume controller to minimum.

   Only on the reference test (second quiescent current measurement) 

2. 3.2 Increase the volume on the left rotary switch until the radio station is clearly audible.

   The quiescent current must have fallen by 600 mA after 20 minutes at the latest.

3. 4 Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

Fluctuations occur when measuring the quiescent current due to the flashing LED. However, the quiescent current must not be more than 1.5 mA.
