Retrofitting coolant preheater - AN20.30-P-0001B

MODEL 210.072 /272 with ENGINE 119

REMOVING Removing     
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin and eyes from scalding from hot coolant which splashes out. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open the cooling system unless the coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and allow the pressure to release. Do not pour coolant into containers for drinks. Wear protective gloves, protective clothes, and eye protection. AS20.00-Z-0001-01A 
1 Drain coolant At radiator and crankcase ra20001190100x
2 Remove bottom engine compartment panel   AR61.20-P-1105AB
3 Unscrew plug (1) at bottom left of engine block SPECIAL TOOL
IMPORTANT Press wrench socket firmly onto the hexagon

4 Screw coolant preheater (20) into the engine block TORQUE SPECIFICATION
IMPORTANT Use new O-ring
*BA20.00-P-1001-01A 
    SPECIAL TOOL Fig 5
5 Attach electric cable of the coolant preheater at the top along the electric cable for the A/C compressor with a cable strap (2)    
6 Unscrew nuts (3) for sensor (B24/3, if fitted) and windshield washer fluid reservoir at the left wheelhousing. Insert the bracket 210 545 29 40 and attach windshield washer fluid reservoir and sensor (B24/3) Place windshield washer fluid reservoir to the side  
7 Attach retaining spring (a) with cap (b) to bracket 210 545 29 40 with two self-tapping screws (c)    
8 Attach the further routing along the cable harness at the wheelhousing (below windshield washer fluid reservoir) with two hose strap fixtures (4)    
9 Attach at the wheelhousing at top left at cable harness with two hose strap fixtures (5)    
10 Insert connector (8) of the electric cable into retaining spring and fit on cap (b)    
11 Install in the reverse order    
12 Inspect cooling system for leaks   AR20.00-P-1010HA
