- Remove underfloor protection in the shaded area for the holes (1l, 1r) for the crossmember (see figures below on left and right).
- Pre-drill the drilling points (1l and 1r) marked by chisel punches with dia. 13 mm and widen to dia. 18 mm.
- Treat all holes and contact surfaces for parts still to be installed with anticorrosion agent, and treat surfaces not covered by the parts with underbody sealant.
- Place stiffening beam (4l) in left longitudinal member and stiffening beam (4r) in right longitudinal member (see figures at top on left and right).
The stiffening beams are marked with "L" for left or "R" for right respectively.
- Insert the countertabs (5) in each case on left and right into longitudinal members (figures at top).
- Screw on stiffening beams (4r) and (4l) with self-locking nuts (6) but do not tighten.
Place one of the washers supplied with the kit below each nut (6).
- Position crossmember (8) and screw in 2 microencapsulated bolts (7) in each case M12x70 mm but do not tighten.
- Align trailer coupling.
- Tighten the microencapsulated bolts (7) and crossmember to the vehicle to the specified tightening torque
- Tighten the self-locking nuts (6) on the counter tab of the left stiffening beam (4l) (Figure on left) and right stiffening beam (4r) (Figure on right) with the specified tightening torque
