Perform function test of light signals at the trailer hitch socket. - AN31.19-P-8100-06F

Check the function of the lighting signals at the 13-pin trailer hitch socket (X58) with a lighting bar (1).

1. Switch on left direction indicator lamp.
2. Switch on right direction indicator lamp.
3. Switch on hazard warning flasher system.
4. Switch on side lights.
5. Switch on backup lamps.
6. Depress brake pedal and check that stop lamps function.
7. Switch on rear fog lamp.

   The rear fog lamp on the vehicle must not come on.

8. Simulate failure of the rear fog lamp on the trailer.

   The rear fog lamp on the vehicle must light up.

9. Simulate the failure of the left or right direction indicator lamp.

   The flashing frequency of the indicator lamp in the instrument cluster must double.
