Removal |

Open trunk lid |

Remove combination clip (12) and cover (13) |

Unscrew screws (4) on trunk lid lock |

Remove trunk lid lock (1) from trunk lid |
On special version with trunk lid auxiliary lock (code 884), remove left and right catches and connecting linkage |

Pull central locking line (5) off of trunk lid lock |
|
|
| 6 |
Separate catch housing (3) from lock cylinder housing (2) by lifting catch (6, arrow) and moving lock cylinder housing out |

| 7 |
Unscrew screws (8) and remove striker eye (9) from bottom section (10) |
If it is necessary to remove the bottom section (10) of the striker eye, remove the covering on the rear center piece |

Installation |

Assemble catch housing (3) and lock cylinder housing (2) |
Catch (7) must engage |

| 9 |
Connect central locking line (5) to central locking element on trunk lid lock |
|
|
| 10 |
Install trunk lid lock (1) in trunk lid |
When installing trunk lid lock ensure that seal (7) is properly seated. Install with notch at bottom, replace seal if damaged. On special version with trunk lid auxiliary lock (code 884) install connecting linkage and left and right catches |

Adjustment |

| 11 |
Screw in screws (4) and align trunk lid lock so that lock cylinder housing (2) is positioned uniformly in the center of the seal (8) and the edge of the lock cylinder housing (3) in parallel to the trunk lid |

| 12 |
Tighten screws (4) |

Install striker eye (9) in bottom section (10) |

| 14 |
Screw in screws (8), tighten only slightly and align striker eye (9) centered in relation to catch for trunk lid lock |
To correct laterally, loosen screws (11) from bottom section (10), adjust and retighten |
|

Adjust height of striker eye (9) so that edges of trunk lid and fenders are flush and trunk lid can be closed easily |

|
| 16 |
Tighten all screws |

Check trunk lid fit in relation to rear fenders |
