Installing trunk lid auxiliary lock - AN88.50-P-0001-01A

  1. Close rotary catch on lock (1).
  2. Assemble lock cylinder (2) and lock (1) ensuring that driver (3) engages in guide (4).
  3. Attach yellow pneumatic line to trunk lid CL actuator.
  4. Connect 3-pin connector for trunk lid lock switch.

  5. Install trunk lid lock (5) in trunk lid.
  6. Start screws (6), however, do not yet tighten.

  7. Insert connecting rods (7, 8) into driver (9) on lock cylinder (1).
  8. Install cover (10) in trunk lid and slide onto lock cylinder (1).

    IMPORTANT Clip (12) should catch audibly in recess (c) in cover (10).

  9. Press trunk lid lock (5) toward rear against lock cylinder rubber seal and tighten screws (6).

  10. Install cover (13, 14) in trunk lid and slide over connecting rods (7, 8).
  11. Hold covers (13, 14) with one plastic clip each (15) mounted on outside.

  12. Install catches (16, 17) in trunk lid inserting connecting rods (7, 8) into drivers (18, 19).

    IMPORTANT Ensure that catches (16, 17) are installed in correct engagement direction.

  13. Tighten catches (16, 17) with screws (20).

  14. Install cage nuts (21) on rear center element.

  15. Install strikers (22, 23) in rear center element.
  16. Start screws (24), however, only tighten to the point that the strikers (22, 23) can still be moved.

  17. Press button on trunk lid lock; all three catches should move from the locked to the unlocked position.
  18. Close rotary catch on lock again; both auxiliary catches should also move to the locked position simultaneously.
  19. Press button on trunk lid lock, all three catches should again move from the locked to the unlocked position.

  20. Close trunk lid.

    IMPORTANT This centers the strikers.

  21. Open trunk lid.
  22. Tighten screws (24).

  23. Check retaining lugs on catches (16, 17).

    IMPORTANT The retaining lugs on the catches (16, 17) should be approx. 2-3 mm from the strikers (22, 23) with the trunk lid closed.

    Check visually if necessary.
