Retrofitting voice control system wiring harness - AN82.70-P-0001-01B

  1. Modify telephone/voice control system wiring harness (1) as illustrated.

  2. Run telephone/voice control system wiring harness (1) as illustrated along existing wiring in the vehicle.

  3. Run telephone/voice control system wiring harness (1) from interior of vehicle on the right as illustrated, below rear seat to the rear fuse box (F4) and on over the wheelhousing to the luggage compartment.

  4. Connect brown cable to ground, right tail lamp in trunk (W7/1).

  5. Run red/blue/purple cable below rear seat to the rear fuse box (F4) and insert into fuse 15 assignment A (circuit 30 connection).
  6. Place branches to the telephone/voice control system transmitter/receiver (A35/10) in the right of the luggage compartment at the wheelhousing.

  7. Run cable to hands-free microphone (B25) over right C-pillar below the right headliner to the overhead operating unit. Fix cable in position behind headliner with felt.

  8. Run antenna cable (4) to connection at roof antenna (A2/22) over right D-pillar to the rear roof area and fix in position with cable straps (arrows).

  9. Run telephone/voice control system wiring harness (1) in front of front passenger seat to center console.

  10. Run yellow/black cable (b) to connection at radio wiring harness and also branch to handset (X39/5) and hands-free speaker (H4/12x1) as illustrated into center console.
  11. Cut through yellow/black cable of radio wiring harness about 50 mm behind radio connector A2 and strip insulation on both sides over about 15 mm.
  12. Solder together all 3 yellow/black cables with soldered joint.
  13. Run telephone/voice control system wiring harness (1) in front of driver's seat as illustrated to the left cable duct and fix in place with felt (arrows).

  14. Strip insulation of grey/blue cable in cable duct (circuit 58 signal). Strip insulation of grey/ blue cable (a) of telephone/voice control system wiring harness (1).
  15. Solder together grey/blue cables (a) with soldered joint.

  16. Run black/yellow/green cable of telephone/voice control system wiring harness (1) as illustrated to the fuse and relay box (F1).
  17. Run branch to voice control system (VCS) switch connector (S93/2x1) as illustrated to the connector strip below steering column and clip into a vacant mount.

  18. Connect black/yellow/green cable in fuse and relay box (F1) at fuse 23, assignment B (circuit 15R connection).

  19. Run branch to handset (X39/5) and hands-free speaker (H4/12x1) to the right-hand side of the center console.
