Retrofit hands-free system wiring harness - AZ82.70-P-0005-02PPC

With Command 

  1. Expose VDA connection for telephone handset (A34) and separation point for portable cellular telephone (X39/37) in radio shaft.
  2. Connect antenna for the telephone handset (A34) to the antenna line of the PSC adapter.

    IMPORTANT If necessary (depending on the vehicle version) use the attached antenna adapter.

  3. Connect VDA connection line (5) to interface box for hands-free system (3).

  4. Route the connection line (5) from the interface box for the hands-free system (3) as per the picture to the exposed CTEL separation point (X39/37) into the radio recess and connect.

    IMPORTANT Fasten the line with adhesive felt.

  5. Prepare the CAN wiring harness (4) as per the picture.

  6. Convert CAN wiring harness (4) as per the picture.

    IMPORTANT Open adapter (11)and remove the black line to contact cavity 18 and insert in contact cavity 6.

    From the coupling for the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) likewise remove the black line from contact cavity 18 and insert in contact cavity 6.

  7. Connect the CAN wiring harness (4) to the ICANI box (2) and connect the connection coupling for ICANI (7) to the free coupling of the interface box for the hands-free system (3).
  8. Route CAN wiring harness (4) to the radio recess and fasten with adhesive felt.

  9. Disconnect the series production coupling on the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) and loosen the coupling housing from the contact carrier (A). Fit new coupling housing (12) (enclosed with the kit) onto the series production wiring harness. Insert contact carrier (A) in new coupling housing (12). Equip contact carrier (B) from CAN wiring harness (4) with the remaining coupling housing.

  10. Connect series production coupling to the plug (11) from the CAN wiring harness (4).
  11. Connect intermediate coupling from the CAN wiring harness (4) to the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3).

  12. Only on vehicles without microphone preinstallation 
    • Expose existing microphone separation point for hands-free system (B25) behind the overhead control panel and connect microphone (6).
    • Affix microphone (6) to the mirror base as per the picture using double sided adhesive tape (contained in the parts kit).

    IMPORTANT Align microphone so that pickup opening points towards driver.
