Explanatory notes on diagnosis 

To improve the possibilities for localizing faults, listings precede troubleshooting chart which show in which way the relevant light or display instrument is actuated.

If several functions are faulty, a CAN failure should always be considered.

As the air conditioning pushbutton unit also receives CAN data, although it is not directly connected to the CAN data buses, faults in the air conditioning may also be caused by a CAN fault. The connection between the air conditioning pushbutton unit and CAN is made as an interface via both K lines and the instrument cluster.
