Expand fiber optical cable ring for component to be retrofitted - AN82.64-P-0001-05NO
Shown on vehicle with sound system (Code 810)
- Unplug the connector housing (10) from the audio gateway control unit (N93/1).
- Press locking tab (arrow in the enlarged section) outward slightly and pull the MOST connector (13) at the MOST fiber optical cable modules (7, 9) out of the MOST connector housing (10).
- 3.1 Unplug the MOST connector (5a) at the sound amplifier (A2/13).
Only for vehicles with code 810 (sound system).
- 4 Separate the two tie straps (arrows) and expose the vehicle's standard wiring harness (23) from the bracket (6)
Risk of breakage! Do not kink optical waveguide, route over sharp edges or bend in radii smaller than 25 mm. Tensile forces on inserts must not exceed 65 N. Do not squeeze fiber optical cable and do not compress with clamps or tie straps.
- 5 Detach the MOST fiber optical cable modules (7, 9) (length of uncovered section approx. 500 mm) from the standard wiring harness and remove them from the bracket (6).
- 6 Unwrap the felt adhesive tape (arrows) at the MOST fiber optical cable modules (7, 9) (length of uncovered section approx. 500 mm) and separate the MOST fiber optical cable modules (7 and 9) from each other.
- 7 Remove the blue retaining clip (5) from the MOST connector (13). Remove the MOST fiber optical cable module (9) from the output side (see arrow on connector) of the MOST connector (13).
To remove it, press the locking tab (a) on the MOST connector (13) slightly outward.
The MOST fiber optical cable module (7) (at the input of the audio gateway control unit (N93/1)) remains in the MOST connector (13).
- 8 Press the locking tab (arrow) on the MOST connector housing (11) slightly outward and remove the MOST fiber optical cable module (8) to be ordered for retrofitting as well as the MOST connector (14) from the MOST connector housing.
The insert (in the enlarged section) at the other end of the MOST fiber optical cable module (8) will later be inserted in the MOST connector (13) removed from the audio gateway control unit (N93/1).
Risk of breakage! Do not kink optical waveguide, route over sharp edges or bend in radii smaller than 25 mm. Tensile forces on inserts must not exceed 65 N. Do not squeeze fiber optical cable and do not compress with clamps or tie straps.
Shown on vehicle with sound system (Code 810)
- 9 Place the insert for the MOST fiber optical cable module (8) to be ordered for retrofitting in the output side (see arrow on connector) of the MOST connector (13) removed from the audio gateway control unit (N93/1) and secure it in place with the blue retaining clip (5).
Make sure that the MOST fiber optical cable module (8) audibly engages in the MOST connector (13).
- 10 Attach the fiber optical cable modules (7) and (8) to each other (length of joined section approx. 300 mm) with felt adhesive tape (see arrow in the illustration below).
- 11 Remove the blue retaining clip (5) from the MOST connector (14) to be ordered for retrofitting.
The MOST connector (14) is located at the other end of the MOST fiber optical cable module (8) to be ordered for retrofitting. The MOST fiber optical cable module (8) must be inserted in the input side of the MOST connector (14).
- 12 Insert the fiber optical cable module (9) removed from the MOST connector (13) at the audio gateway control unit (N93/1) into the output side (arrow) of the MOST connector (14) and secure it in place with the blue retaining clip (5).
Make sure that the fiber optical cable module (9) audibly engages in the MOST connector (14).
- 13 Clip the MOST connector (14) into the MOST connector housing (11).
Make sure that the MOST connector (14) audibly locks in the MOST connector housing (11).
The MOST connector housing (11) will later be connected to the CD player with changer (in the trunk) (A2/6).
The routing of the cables and the location of the MOST fiber optical cable modules is shown on a vehicle with a sound amplifier and without a navigation processor.
The MOST connector housing (11) will later be connected to the CD player with changer (in the trunk) (A2/6). (The illustrations with the CD player are intended provide a better understanding of the installation conditions).
- 14 Route the MOST fiber optical cable modules (7, 8) so that they are again within the bracket between the audio gateway control unit (N93/1) and the sound amplifier (A2/13).
- 15 Clip the MOST connector (13) into the connector housing (10).
- 16 Plug the connector housing 10) into the audio gateway control unit (N93/1).
- 17.1 Plug the MOST connector (5a) into the sound amplifier (A2/13) (only with sound system (Code 810)).
- 18 Secure the MOST fiber optical cable modules to each other with felt adhesive tape, as shown in the illustration above (arrow), and route them alongside the vehicle's standard wiring harness (23).
Do not kink or stretch fiber optical cable, bending radii must be greater than 25 mm!
- 19 Secure the vehicle's standard wiring harness (23) and the MOST fiber optical cable together at the bracket (6) with two new tie straps (enlarged section).
Risk of breakage! Do not kink optical waveguide, route over sharp edges or bend in radii smaller than 25 mm. Tensile forces on inserts must not exceed 65 N. Do not squeeze fiber optical cable and do not compress with clamps or tie straps.
The bracket (6) will later be installed again and secured in the wheelhouse recess before installation of the CD player with changer (in trunk) (A2/6).
