Replace oxygen generator - AR86.10-P-2001M

REMOVING Remove     
1 Open stowage compartment flap (7)    
2 Unscrew left bolt (2) IMPORTANT Secure oxygen generator (1) against falling down.  
3 Unscrew right bolt (3) IMPORTANT Secure oxygen generator (1) against falling down.  
4 Remove oxygen generator (1). NOTES When removing oxygen generator (1) ensure that the valve and the activation tape (4) do not come into contact with other objects to prevent actuation.  
5 Drain empty oxygen generator (1) NOTES Drain empty oxygen generator (1) in protected area. Ensure that no ignition sources are present in the environment. Increased danger of fire.
NOTES Tightly clamp oxygen generator (1) (e.g. into vise) to drain empty and ensure that no objects are present in the vicinity of the valve to prevent damage by fire. The temperature during the combustion procedure is 260 to 300 °C.
IMPORTANT Combustion duration approx.
15 minutes.
 
INSTALLING Install     
6 Insert new oxygen generator (1) IMPORTANT Insert new oxygen generator (1) so that the activation tape (4) is positioned at the top where it is easy to reach.  
7 Screw in right bolt (3) IMPORTANT Secure oxygen generator (1) against falling down.  
8 Screw in left bolt (2) IMPORTANT Secure oxygen generator (1) against falling down.  
9 Remove securing tape (5) IMPORTANT Ensure that cotter pin (6) is removed completely.  
10 Check whether activation tape (4) is seated tightly. IMPORTANT The cotter pin (8) of the activation tape (4) must be seated tightly in the eyelet intended for this purpose. The activation tape (4) must be fastened to the perforated plate on the oxygen generator (1) with two dots of glue.  
11 Check whether oxygen generator (1) is seated tightly. IMPORTANT Oxygen generator (1) should not be seated loosely. If deficiencies occur, determine cause and eliminate error.  
12 Close stowage compartment flap (7).
