- Unscrew bolt (1) and remove cover (2) from stowage compartment
- Unclip cover (3) from center console (6).
- Break pre-punched, square cover for connector housing (5) of long, black, 10-pin data cable (4) out of cover (2).
- Clip connector housing (5) of long, black, 10-pin data cable (4) into cover (2).
- Lead connector of long, black, 10-pin data cable (4) through recess (see arrow) in center console (6).
- Install cover (2) and connector housing (5) in stowage compartment.
- Insert long, black, 10-pin data cable (4) into right hinge bracket (7) of center console (6).
- Feed cable strap (8) through holes in right hinge bracket (7) and secure long, black, 10-pin data cable (4).
- Break pre-punched breakout (see arrow) out of left side of handset cradle (8).
- Clip connector housing (10) of long, black, 10-pin data cable (9) into holder (12).
Check for correct seating.
- Insert holder (12) into side recess on handset cradle (8).
- Position holder (12) and handset cradle (8) on retaining plate (14) and attach using 4 M4x8 bolts (13).
Bolt holes are prepunched.
- Insert short, 10-pin data cable (9) into provided arresting slots on underside of retaining plate (14) as shown in illustration.
- Place retaining plate (12) on stowage compartment and adapt (15) short, black, 10-pin data cable (9) with connector housing.
- Place retaining plate in stowage shell and fasten using 4 sheet metal screws 3.5x8 (19).
Do not bend or crush data cable.
- Plug telephone handset (A34) into handset cradle and attach connector (17) to holder connector housing (12).
Operations 17 to 19 are performed after installing the center console.
- Adapt connector (18) of long, black, 10-pin data cable (4) to handset transmitter and receiver connector (X39/5) of telephone wiring harness (20).
- Clip handset transmitter and receiver connector (X39/5) to cover (21) as shown in illustration.
- Clip cover (21) to center console.
