Inner constant-velocity joint on rear halfshaft, extraction and pressing on - AR35.30-P-0660-02A

REFER TO SHOP-MADE TOOLS Half shells (2 pieces) for pressing off or for caulking the inner constant velocity joint WF58.50-P-3530-01A

Pressing off 

  1. For pressing off use the two shop-made shell halves (063a) and the SPECIAL TOOL drift (063).
  2. Clean constant velocity joints.

  3. Pressing on 

  4. Press constant velocity joint with knurling onto rear axle shaft so that the knurling (arrow) on the circumference of the joint ring points in the direction of the rear axle shaft.

    IMPORTANT Press constant velocity joint onto rear axle shaft so that the turned groove (arrow) points in the direction of the rear axle shaft.

  5. SPECIAL TOOL Select clamping jaws for rear axle shaft dia. 25 mm, dia. 27 mm or dia. 34 mm.

    Use SPECIAL TOOL 116 589 11 31 00 for rear axle shaft dia. 27 mm.

    Use SPECIAL TOOL 220 589 02 31 00 for rear axle shaft dia. 34 mm.

    No special tool is used for rear axle shaft dia. 25 mm.

  6. Fit clamping jaws on boot collar of rear axle shaft and press constant velocity joint onto rear axle shaft up to contact surface using SPECIAL TOOL drift (arrow).
