Brake Master Cylinder: Removal

  1. Open hood.
  2. Suction off brake fluid from brake fluid reservoir (10). Disconnect brake lines (5) and seal off connections with plugs. See Fig 1 .
  3. Remove plug (10b).
  4. Unscrew bolt (10a).
  5. Remove reservoir from brake master cylinder (1). Remove brake lines from master brake cylinder and seal connections with plugs.
  6. Remove pendulum support (113) from brake master cylinder.
  7. Unscrew hexagon nuts (19).
  8. NOTE: Do not tilt brake master cylinder, but pull out straight forwards otherwise thrust rod is pressed out off its axial position.
  9. Remove brake master cylinder (1).
  10. Installation is the reverse of removal. Replace sealing ring (1a). Tighten nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Bleed brake system and check complete system for fluid leaks. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM  .
